Buonasera, sostanzialmente è da un po' di tempo che ho problemi con questo simpatico modulo.
In poche parole se lo attivo la cpu si surriscalda abbestia e se ne frega di ciò che gli dico di fare con cpupower; da qualche parte dicono che vada associato a thermald, ma ho notato che non cambia una mazza quindi ho semplicemente aggiunto un bel intel_pstate=disable alla riga di comando del kernel.
Esiste una soluzione più elegante?

Poi per carità, forse intel_pstate garantirà performance migliori ( anche perché è impossibile disabilitare il turbo boost e quindi il processore sta sempre sparato a 3 GHz) però se il prezzo da pagare è avere un notebook rumoroso che surriscalda preferisco disabilitarlo.

È strano che non lo faccia disabilitare, io ero arrivato a questa soluzione proprio seguendo il forum di Arch... Su dmesg non si vede nulla?
Comunque visto che ti voglio bene ho messo un intel_pstate=enable ed ho provato la stessa soluzione che ti hanno suggerito nel forum di Arch, ti faccio sapere come va!

Una cosa: hai provato a caricare manualmente acpi-cpufreq con modprobe?

No, ma per farlo dovrei prima levare pstate e non so come fare.

Bella domanda, non so proprio come levarlo se il disable nella riga del kernel non funziona...

Sono tanti 64°C e te lo scrive chi ha un quad core sovradimensionato per il dissipatore.

Appena finisce di caricare tengo sott'occhio la temperatura. Proprio oggi ho impostato volontariamente pstate tramite TLP. Dici che dovrei disattivarlo? Questo è il procio.

In teoria essendo un Ivy Bridge dovresti usare pstate.

In pratica TLP usa pstate ma consente di definire i limiti in cui opera?

es: di norma da alimentazione elettrica pstate manda il processore al 100% quando usa il gestore performance; TLP consente di regolare la frequenza massima di performance ad un'altra percentuale, tipo l'80%.

Ultimamente Windows 10 scalda più di Ubuntu :pipp: Sento la ventola partire senza una ragione e non c'è nessun processo in particolare a usare tanta CPU.

EDIT: waitwaitwait. Mi sono confuso, la roba di pstate non l'ho mai toccata. Io oggi ho abilitato msr, e installato x86_enery_perf_policy, segue relativa configurazione:

A me Windows lo ha sempre fatto. Nella realtà un po' anche Ubuntu,  Manjaro si comporta bene, lo sento ribollire solo quando effettivamente lavora.

Eppure Windows fra applicazioni native e accelerazioni hardware dovrebbe andare meglio.
