E in ogni caso, già visto :asd:

Per ora ho selezionato, fra i papabili:
Misery non deve morire
Nightmare
Le colline hanno gli occhi (quello originale)
Halloween
Silent Hill

Se non l'hai visto, Silent Hill si presta bene alla serata tra amici.
Bella atmosfera e film decente :ysy:

Necroposting a tema : :tnz:

Alcune minirecensioni da parte di tizio a caso su reddit.
Può contenere spoiler

1. Grabbers (2009) – I was kind of expecting more but it was still a fun ride. (3/5)

2. Odd Thomas (2013) – I've never read the books and I probably never will. (2/5)

3. The Canal (2014) – A nice little independent hidden gem, they could have gone bigger with the ending but I didn't mind, it's solid. (4/5)

4. Late Phases (2014) – I love a good Werewolf flick but this one falls apart towards the end, Nick Damici is great though; it's worth watching just for him. (2/5)

5. 13 Sins (2014) – I really enjoyed this but got the sense that, maybe, it was an American remake of a foreign film, it is. (3.5/5)

6. The Den (2013) – Decent but not amazing found footage, the acting was kinda on the fence, but it had some good moments. (3/5)

7. The Expelled aka F (2010) – Nicely executed Home Invasion (School Invasion) flick; was hoping for
a reveal of the nameles, faceless hooded terror, but it never came;
still good though. (3.9/5)

8. The Horde aka La horde (2009) - Très Zombie Fantastique! (5/5)

9. Housebound (2014) – Unexpected, funny and clever; a great little Horror comedy. (4.5/5)

10. Here Comes The Devil aka Ahí va el Diablo (2012) – I think, for me, the main protagonist parents were unintentionally unlikable so it was hard to get on board this creep train; not a fan. (2/5)

11. Extraterrestrial (2014) – I can't say enough bad things about this film; just terrible, Vicious Brothers shame on you. (1/5)

12. Torment (2013) – This one had potential but comes off a little flat; although, Katharine Isabelle makes up for it, she is not a little flat. (2.8/5)

13. The Road (2011) – This was a nice little Filipino haunter that, although it starts off a little slow, unfolds quite nicely and pays off in the end; good stuff! (4.5/5)

14. The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014) – A valiant effort to remake/reboot The Town That Dreaded Sundown but it's nothing to write home (to Texarkana) about; not horrible, but not great. (3/5)

15. Rites of Spring (2011) – The set up and first hour of this movie are fantastic (I was loving it), but its slow steady decline into the generic, and inexplicably dumb choices by the main characters, made it a little disappointing. (2.9/5)

16. The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014) – Loved it, this is the way Found Footage should be done. (5/5)

17. The Babadook (2014) – The Babadook's real victory is how divisive it has made everyone who has seen it. (4/5)

18. Contracted (2013) – This felt like they tried to stretch about twenty minutes of story into a feature length film, they could've done so much more. (1.8/5)

19. The Snowtown Murders (2012) – I know this movie is critically acclaimed and based on true events, but it just really dragged for me and was a struggle to finish. (2/5)

20. All Cheerleaders Die (2013) – Why do all the high school girls in this movie look like thirty year old strippers? (2.5/5)

21. Bad Milo! (2013) – Ken Marino is funny, as usual, but I though Peter Stormare really stole the show. (3.5/5)

22. 100 Bloody Acres (2012) – I thought I had found another awesome Aussie Horror Comedy but it was just alright mate. (3/5)

23. We Are What We Are (2013) – Michael Parks is good in everything he does and
the Kuru disease story line was very clever,
but I wanted a little bit more from the writer and director of Stake Land. (3/5)

24. The Seasoning House (2012) – Interesting premise and some decent acting but the story trips up as it unfolds and becomes unnecessarily senseless. (2.5/5)

25. Coherence (2013) – More of a creepy low budget sci-fi thriller but impressive, especially knowing the entire thing is, mostly, improvised by the actors; I really enjoyed it. (4.5/5)

26. Sightseers (2012) – There is no denying that the two lead actors had great chemistry, but this was the follow up to Kill List, so I guess I was expecting something more creepy and less dry British humor; but I didn't hate it. (3/5)

27. The House at the End of Time aka La casa del fin de los tiempos (2013) – Great little hidden gem from Venezuela that caught me by surprise, I would recommend this to fans who appreciate a good story. (4.5/5)

28. Them aka ils (2006) – This is tied for 5th place on Dreadit's Top 20 French Horror Movies, but IMHO maybe that's a little high. (3/5)

29. Lake Mungo(2008) – Effectively creepy and unexpected without the typical found footage tropes; if I had a top ten list of best Found Footage films, this would be on it. (5/5)

30. Dead Within (2014) – I took a chance on this tight little, psychological, zombie, survival horror; and I'm glad I did, they did a lot with a little and it's worth checking out (before it leaves Netflix). (4/5)

31. Hell Comes to Frogtown (1988) – A fellow Dreaditor described this movie as "fucked up magic," and that about sums it up. (3/5)

32. Dead Silence (2007) – I may have unfairly expected more from this film, because it's James Wan; but it felt a little hollow. (2.5/5)

33. Altered (2006) – I am genuinely surprised that people haven't been raving about this little known movie, because it was mother fucking awesome! (5/5)

34. Exists (2014): Eduardo Sanchez's Bigfoot movie. I really liked Lovely Molly (2011) and I loved Altered (2006) but this one falls short by making a lot of the mistakes that give found footage a bad name; namely that it switches back and forth from found footage to regular footage. It was sort of confused as to which type of movie it wanted to be. I spent a lot of the movie wondering "who's filming this?" (2.8/5)

35. Spring (2014): Lives up to the hype, I really loved it but I wish
they had gone the other way with the ending.
Also, can anyone explain the significance
of the volcano going off at the end. Was that just a metaphor, or were they all going to die after she made her decision, or did she like wake up the Elder Gods by giving up her immortality, or something like that?
(4.5)

36. TerrorVision(1986): Cult classic 80s horror flick. I loved the monster but the rest was absolutely ridiculous. (2.8/5)

37. Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (2007): I'm a big fan of Horror-comedy, not sure how this one slipped by me. Robert Englund is great. I loved it! (5/5)

38. Bedevilled aka Kim Bok-nam salinsageonui jeonmal (2010): A decently made foreign revenge flick that is supposedly a "runaway hit" in Korea. It was on one of the blog lists that I was following. My first reaction was too much slow burn and not enough payoff, but I didn't realize it was based on a true story, so I'm on the fence. (3/5)

39. Banshee Chapter (2013): It might have some flaws but the whole Lovecraftian aspect, the number stations premise, and Ted Levine as Thomas "Hunter Thompson" Blackburn, make up for it. I really enjoyed it. (3.8/5)

40. Society (1989): Holy Shit! (5/5)

41. Hardware (1990): – This is on Dreadit's Top 20 Sci-Fi Horror Films list. It starts off pretty strong. I liked the feel and the atmosphere, but it starts to fall apart towards the end; feels very derivative of The Terminator. (2.8/5)

42. Zombeavers (2014): Pretty much what you would expect from a movie called Zombeavers. (3/5)

43. The ABCs of Death (2012): I love the concept for this and it's great that they gave the directors total freedom to do what they wanted, but some of these were just too bizarre for their own good. My favorite was Adam Wingard's (You're Next) Q is for Quack. (3/5)

44. The Horseman (2008): This was a pretty tight little low budget Aussie revenge flick that was solidly executed and well acted. Someone on Dreadit recommended it on a post. I'm glad I checked it out. (4/5)

45. Dark Skies (2013): Even though there are several elements that feel derivative of other movies, the acting is very solid and it's a good looking, creepy abduction film. Plus, bonus points for J.K. Simmons! I really liked it, and it actually left me feeling uneasy for a couple days after. (4/5)

46. Yellowbrickroad (2010): I tried to watch this two times before, in the past, and gave up because the acting was so terrible. I finally decided to stick it through. I can't say the acting got any better but the movie does become very unsettling and it sticks with you. It wasn't as horrible as I thought it was going to be, but still could have been better. (2.8/5)

47. John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns (2005): I love The Masters of Horror series, but I had never gotten around to watching this one. Great story, and funny to see such a young baby faced Norman Reedus ; love John Carpenter! (3.8/5)

48. The Hole (2009): I've been a huge fan of Joe Dante for years, Gremlins is one of my favorites of all time. This one was actually going pretty well, but I really hated the whole climax and ending. It's like the whole thing shifted gears in the last act and it decided to be a completely different movie. Oh well, you can't win them all. (2.5/5)

49. Starry Eyes (2014): I didn't know what to expect from this but it was great. There were a lot of similar elements to Contracted (2014), but this one was done so much better. This is a nice little hidden gem on Netflix, I would recommend it. (4/5)

50. Martyrs (2008): I thought I would mark the halfway point of my Summer Horror Movie Marathon with a movie I've had on my list for a very long time but, I guess, have avoided watching until now. Aside from always hearing that it was a must see for Horror fans, all I ever heard about it was how graphically violent and gory it was. I was actually surprised at how well made it was, and the story is quite clever;
the multiple twist caught me by surprise.
Yes, it was gory and violent, and
the torture at the end was hard to take, especially the flaying... Jesus!
but it's smart and the directing and acting are top notch. I'm glad I finally took the plunge and watched it. (4/5)

51. Tusk (2014): I didn't think this movie was that disturbing when I first finished it, but I can't stop thinking about it and how f'ed up it is; thanks a lot Kevin Smith. Also, I totally did not recognize Johnny Depp as Guy Lapointe, double whammy! (4/5)

52. Calvaire aka The Ordeal (2004): This is tied for 7th place on Dreadit's Top 20 French Horror Films list. It's for free on YouTube, if you can handle it; it's très disturbing! (3.8)

53. Haunter (2013): I loved this! Abigail Breslin has got some acting chops, and it's beautifully directed by Vincenzo Natali, who did Cube (1997); which I haven't seen yet but it's on the list! (5/5)

54. Sauna (2008): A good looking Finnish Horror period piece with a heavy focus on story and character, and not so much the Horror. (3/5)

55. The Bay (2012): Barry Levinson made a found footage Horror film, and it's actually pretty good. (4/5)

56. And Soon The Darkness (2010): A remake of the 1970 original, which I've never seen; probably because it doesn't have Amber Heard in it. It's a little bit lackluster but not as horrible as the critics make it seem. I liked it a lot better than All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006). (3/5)

57. It Follows (2014): For a mainstream movie with a widespread theatrical release, I thought the premise was pretty ingenious. (5/5)

58. Cube (1997): Okay, so now I have seen Cube. I'm a fan, great stuff! (5/5)
